Local manganese miners which have ‘clean and clear’ license from Ministry of Energy in East Nusa Tenggara reached 29 licenses. The number should be bigger as if the unlisted ones included. We have talked about PT Soe Makmur Resources’ license previously, so the following article would present the other 28 licenses.

Manganese spreads across Africa, China, Georgia, and several Russian fraction countries. It is widely used for battery, steels, aluminium alloys, etc. BHP has several mines in Australia, There is Ghana Manganese Ltd in Ghana, Manganese Metal Company based in South Africa, and US has American Manganese Inc. Meanwhile, Indonesia has East Nusa Tenggara as the manganese main source.

Miners Who Shall Be Moved: Bharinto Ekatama


Coordinating Minister of Economics Hatta Rajasa recently stated publicly that those miners who will get expired shall give their concession to the state, and if they want to re-negotiate them, they shall re-negotiate the terms. Well, that's great for the state and people, but what's the meaning for the companies? Further lobby must be made from now, especially for those who will be expired in the next 10-20 years.

Sihayo And Major Issues

Recently PT Sorik Mas Mining (SMM), Indonesian partner of Sihayo Gold Ltd, become a hot topic after its offices and camps were burnt down by protester. Well, this kind of incident is already common for all miners, let`s say Arc Exploration, Freeport, etc. What strange from them is on why their issues become a hot topic?
